PMAY-U is a initiative by the Govt of India in which affordable houses are provided to the economically weaker and poorer sections of the society. It is administered by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. As many poorer sections of the society are unable to build their own pucca house,this scheme from the Government of India will greatly help those people. The scheme also caters to the housing requirement of slum dwellers residing in confined areas of slums with inadequate infrastructure, poor sanitation and drinking facilities. PMAY-U covers all towns and areas under jurisdiction of an urban development authority.
